Lydia Biography
Lydia Campbell has been active in the fitness industry for over 20 years. She has been a fitness studio director establishing two of London's top clubs, Stripes in Ealing (now Holmes Place) and Riverside in Chiswick and a club owner herself for 5 years totalling 10 years of club management experience. From instructor training to presenting she is one of the most established names in the industry.

Outside the health club industry she has become a well known figure through her exercise videos, TV appearances and her public fitness events. Her first book, Legs Bums n Tums, was released in May 1996. Her latest book The London Fitness Guide was released in January 2000.

In 1991 she established Europe's largest health and fitness events setting up "Fit'n'Fun" in association with the Sunday Mirror national paper.

These events are held twice a year and attract 4,500 guests for a 3 day weekend of non-stop activity. 45,000 people have now been introduced to safe, effective exercise. Aged from 5 to 80 from all walks of life - not just the fitness fanatic - people curious to know what fitness and a healthy lifestyle are all about.

In 1992 she established FitCamp, an industry convention which has now grown into the largest UK convention attracting over 1,500 fitness professionals providing education development with workshops and masterclasses in all the latest fitness concepts. FitCamps now runs International fitness events in Europe.

Along with these events, Lydia has created the FitCamp Presenter Team - 26 of the UK's top instructors to educate and motivate instructors and the public - many of whom have been seconded by major sports companies such as Reebok and Nike.

Lydia also publicly lectures on healthy lifestyle covering topics such as osteoporosis and heart disease . In 1994 she was the guest speaker in the Houses of Parliament to launch "No Diet Day."

Editor of Active Magazine between 1993-96 she was able to help dispel the myths and hype on exercise created by the mainstream media informing the public of the latest up to date facts on health and fitness related issues.

After 4 consumer videos from the chart topping Legs Bums n Tums, L.A Step, Fit for Life with Gloria Hunniford and Your Bodys Calling with Kimberley Davies From Neighbours. In 1997 Lydia then launched 5 new videos in the Lydia Campbell Workout Series, which she produced and directed. These videos were voted best fitness videos by Timeout and were also featured on Sky 1 for a year.

In 1998 Lydia was elected as a council member of Exercise of England whereby she focuses on the standardization of Pilates training and instructors welfare.

Legs Bums 'n' Tums released January 1992. Charted for over 6 months reaching 16 in the overall UK Video Charts and number 2 in the Fitness Charts. Now sold to the U.S.A. This has never been achieved by a British Fitness professional before.

Express versions of Legs Bums 'n' Tums released July 92.

The LA Step Workout filmed May 1992 released nationwide September 1992.

Fit For Life with Gloria Hunniford was released in February 1994.

Charity Work
Physical Aid - July 1985. Organised and supervised a 6 hour marathon workout in the middle of Ealing Shopping Centre raising £6,000 for Ethiopian Famine relief.

Teaching Experience
All types of fitness classes including, Step Workout, Circuit Training, Aerobic Dance, Callisthenics, Workouts with weights and resistance bands, Aqua Classes and Ante natal Exercises.

Presented masterclasses and workshops in the U.K., Israel, Mexico, and throughout Europe.

Organises the UK's leading fitness instructor event, FitCamp, annually since 1992 catering for 1500 aerobic teachers providing top instructors and lecturers at affordable prices.

Taught adult and children's classes at various venues, including Fitness Centres, Covent Garden and Questors Theatre The Dance Attic, Putney, and Imperial College London.

Personal Training
Lydia has maintained personal training clients throughout her career and still provides service locally in West london.

Previous clients have included Miss UK for 'The Most Beautiful Woman in the World Pageant 1984', Yasmin Lebon, Edina Ronay and Efu.

She has also worked with Linford Christie, Geoff Thompson and Wasps rugby players.
